Natixis: forecast for precious metals in 2022 - Preview

The normalization of the global economy in 2022 and the tightening of monetary policy by the US Federal Reserve will affect gold and silver, analysts at Natixis Bank say.
In an interview with Kitco News, Bernard Dahdah, a precious metals analyst at a French bank, said that while he does not expect gold to collapse completely next year, prices should fall to pre-pandemic levels.
In its forecast for precious metals prices for 2022, Natixis expects the yellow precious metal to average $ 1,630 per troy ounce. “The price of gold will still be on average higher than in 2010, but this is how we see the normalization in the market,” he said.
The bank is also not optimistic about silver prices in the next 2022, he said. Dakhdah said that silver should follow the price of gold down, even in the transition to green energy. Natixis expects the average silver price to be around $ 21.10 per troy ounce.
