According to the Scrap Monster portal, from January 1, 2020, the Government of India will launch a program according to which each bride will receive 10 grams of gold as a gift from the state. But there are several important conditions for participating in this program.

A golden gift will be given only to those brides who study at the university, and so that the wedding is officially registered. Also, the age of the groom should be from 21 years old, and the age of the bride - from 18 years and older. Another condition for receiving a gift from the government is the income for the whole family: it should not exceed 500,000 rupees per year. But if it exceeds this amount, then the bride will still be able to receive a gift, only if for her this is the first marriage.

According to available information, due to fluctuations in the world price of gold, the bride’s bank account will be transferred in the amount of 30,000 rupees, which can only be spent on the purchase of gold. After the purchase, she will have to provide a check at the bridal registry. If the price of gold in the country grows, then the Indian authorities will also adjust the amount of money for the purchase of precious metals upward.

The Assam Provincial Finance Minister has confirmed that the cabinet has already approved the program. For the first three months (January-March) of the next 2020, 3 billion rupees will be allocated from the country's budget. The main goal of the program is to support women in family life, as well as to combat early and unregistered marriages.
