At the last meeting, the heads of government of Germany and part of the group of industrial countries - the US, Japan, France, Britain, Italy and Canada - gathered in the well-guarded castle of Elmau in the Bavarian Alps.
The last such meeting on German soil took place in 2015, and also at Elmau Castle near the border with Austria. According to the appointment of the director and hotel Dietmar Müller-Ellmau, the reasons for this are possible: “There is hardly a place in Germany that could be guarded as well as Elmau Castle, and which would be so secluded and at the same time not so far from civilization."
The summit decided to ban against Russia in response to the full-scale war unleashed in Ukraine. This was announced by US President Joe Biden.
