At the end of 2018, Russian mining companies were able to produce 314 tons of gold and 1,119 tons of silver. For both precious metals, production growth was recorded compared with the previous 2017.
The Ministry of Finance of Russia published this week data on gold and silver mining in the country in the past 2018. It follows from them that in 2018, 314.42 tons of yellow precious metal were mined in Russia, which is + 4.2% more compared with 2017, and silver mining amounted to 1119.5 tons - an increase of + 7.2% compared with 2017.
Most of the gold mined in Russia is bought by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. According to the Central Bank of the country, last year he bought a record 8.8 million ounces of gold for reserves, which corresponds to 273.7 tons.
